Publication Ethics

Journal of Inclusive Pedagogy is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and adheres to the principles and best practices established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). All parties involved in the publication process—including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher—are expected to uphold the principles of academic integrity, transparency, and professionalism to ensure the quality and credibility of published research.

1. Authors' Responsibilities

Authors submitting manuscripts to the Journal of Inclusive Pedagogy are expected to:

  • Submit only original work that has not been previously published and is not under consideration by another journal.

  • Ensure that all data, analyses, and findings are presented honestly, accurately, and transparently.

  • Avoid plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, and any other form of research misconduct.

  • Properly acknowledge and cite all sources used in the manuscript.

  • Include as authors only individuals who have made substantial scholarly contributions to the research and manuscript preparation, while avoiding guest, gift, or ghost authorship.

  • Disclose any financial, institutional, or personal conflicts of interest that could influence the research or its interpretation.

  • Cooperate with the editorial process by responding to reviewers' comments and providing revisions in a timely manner.

  • Notify the editorial office promptly if a significant error is discovered in a published article and cooperate in issuing corrections or retractions when necessary.

2. Editors' Responsibilities

Editors are responsible for:

  • Evaluating submitted manuscripts solely on the basis of their scholarly merit, originality, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, and relevance to the journal's aims and scope.

  • Making editorial decisions fairly and without discrimination based on race, gender, nationality, institutional affiliation, religion, or political beliefs.

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of manuscripts and all information related to the editorial process.

  • Preventing conflicts of interest from influencing editorial decisions.

  • Ensuring a fair, transparent, objective, and timely peer-review process.

  • Taking appropriate corrective actions, including corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions, when ethical issues are identified.

3. Reviewers' Responsibilities

Peer reviewers are expected to:

  • Provide objective, constructive, and timely evaluations that contribute to improving the quality of submitted manuscripts.

  • Treat all manuscripts as confidential documents and not disclose or use unpublished information for personal advantage.

  • Identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors whenever appropriate.

  • Inform the editors of any suspected plagiarism, duplicate publication, ethical concerns, or substantial similarity with previously published work.

  • Decline to review manuscripts when conflicts of interest exist or when they are unable to provide an objective assessment.

4. Publication Ethics and Research Integrity

The Journal of Inclusive Pedagogy employs a rigorous peer-review process and utilizes plagiarism detection software to verify the originality of submitted manuscripts. Manuscripts found to contain plagiarism, duplicate publication, fabricated or falsified data, unethical research practices, or other forms of academic misconduct will be rejected or, if already published, may be corrected, retracted, or removed in accordance with COPE guidelines.

The journal is committed to promoting honesty, transparency, reproducibility, and ethical research practices throughout the publication process.

5. Handling Allegations of Research Misconduct

All allegations of publication misconduct will be handled in accordance with the COPE Core Practices and relevant ethical guidelines. The editorial office will conduct a fair, impartial, and confidential investigation before making any editorial decision.

Depending on the severity of the violation, the journal may take one or more of the following actions:

  • Reject the submitted manuscript.

  • Request revisions or clarifications from the authors.

  • Publish a correction or corrigendum.

  • Issue an Expression of Concern.

  • Retract the published article.

  • Notify the authors' affiliated institution or relevant authorities when appropriate.
