Abstract

The use of the internet as a learning resource has become an integral part of the educational process for senior high school students. The internet provides easy access to information and flexible learning opportunities; however, its intensity of use needs to be balanced with effective time management skills. This study aims to examine the effect of the intensity of internet use for learning on the time management of senior high school students. This research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The participants consisted of 50 senior high school students selected through a simple random sampling technique. Data were collected using questionnaires measuring the intensity of internet use for learning and students’ time management, both of which had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was conducted using simple linear regression after the prerequisite tests were fulfilled.

The results indicate that the intensity of internet use for learning has a significant effect on students’ time management, with a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.394 indicates that the intensity of internet use for learning contributes 39.4% to students’ time management, while the remaining variance is influenced by other factors not examined in this study. These findings suggest that academically oriented internet use can support students in managing their study time more effectively.
